DISS Otters have enjoyed the most successful Norfolk County Swimming Championships in their history with three newly-crowned champions, eight gold, seven silver, 11 bronze and a further 29 top-six finishes.

DISS Otters have enjoyed the most successful Norfolk County Swimming Championships in their history with three newly-crowned champions, eight gold, seven silver, 11 bronze and a further 29 top-six finishes.

The Otters proved that, despite the small size of the club, they are still a serious force.

Ben Sweeting, 9, won gold in both the 50m and 200m breaststroke. He broke his age group county championship record for both events. Ben also won a silver in the 50m freestyle, and bronze in the 200m freestyle event.

In the boys' 15-year age group, Liam Osborne won gold medals in five events - the 50m, 100 and 200 freestyle as well as the 50 and 100m backstroke.

He also gained two age group silver medals in the 50m butterfly and 200m backstroke. He won bronzes in the junior championship 50 and 100m freestyle, and 50m backstroke events.

He was sixth in the men's senior championship 50m backstroke.

Hattie Clarke, 13, won gold in the 100m individual medley, silver in 50m freestyle and bronze in the 200m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

There were two silver medals for Katie Nash in the 12-year age group, silver in the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly events. Jordan King, 11, also swam superbly to win silver in 1,500m freestyle.

Bronzes went to Russell Hatton (11 years 1,500m freestyle), Gabrielle Putt (13-years 50m butterfly), Alice Waterfield (10-years 50m breaststroke) and Toby Boom (11-years 50m breaststroke). Steve Dungar, 17, won a bronze in the men's senior championship 50m breaststroke.
