EASTER Sunday saw the earliest-ever sighting of Stradbroke Cricket Club in the middle for a full-scale practice in the form of two 20/20 games. In the first Joe Pearson (51), James Grigg (35), Alan Barker (21) and Steve Warner (20), set a target of 134 too rich for the A-team despite the best efforts of the Bedwell brothers Lee (49) and Ross (21) getting to a respectable 94.

In the second game it was the turn of Chris Bacon (27), David Allum (23) and a brisk 23 from Pearson setting the A-team 89, a target that proved no problem as Ben Flatt (32) and Alex Fitchett (26) set up the win.

Several bowlers showed early form but it was Warner who stole the show, becoming only the second bowler to pass 500 wickets for the club.
