Diss U18 slipped to a 6-3 defeat at Kirkley & Pakefield U18 in an exciting Thurlow Nunn Youth League match.

Kirkley were 3-0 up at the break and made it 4-0 soon after the restart before Diss got one back with an own goal.

Diss then had a period of great attacking play and further reduced the arrears in the 66th minute when a free-kick was headed on by Osi Emmanoka for Jack Church to beat a defender on the left and cross for Charlie Bowen to shoot in first time.

There were other good chances for Diss before Kirkley made it 5-2 and both teams scored in added time. Nathan Woods hit a perfect 25 yard left foot shot into the top corner for the home side before a centre from Church was dropped by the goalkeeper for Emmanoka to shoot in from close range.

Diss U18's next two games are away at Harford Tornadoes U18 tonight and at home against Norwich United U18 on Thursday, October 5 (both 7.45pm).
