Bring an apple pear, plum, quince or even nut for identification at the Apple Day at Redgrave and Lopham Fen on Sunday, October 19 from 10am-4pm.

Visitors can find out more about forgotten orchards and local expert Paul Read will be there to help identify unknown apples and pears as well as more unusual autumn fruits. He brings with him a large display of named apple and pear varieties, an insight into the diversity of these popular fruits.

For the gardeners, unusual varieties of fruit trees and bushes are on sale along side seasonal perennial and vegetable plants from specialist nurseries.

Traditional varieties of apples, locally produced juice and preserves will be available to sample or try juice straight from the press. You can even 'pick and mix' from 15 different varieties including Blenheim orange.

The visitor centre is open throughout the day, selling wildlife gifts and books and with an apple theme in the café. The walks are also open, dogs on leads are welcome.

Entrance: adults £2, children £1.
