A Woman of No Importance follows a group of guests at Lady Hunstanton's house party which is in full swing when Gerald Arbuthnot is announced as secretary to the witty Lord Illingworth.

However once Gerald's mother makes an appearance, suddenly his future is uncertain. Should Mrs Arbuthnot tell her son the truth she has hidden all these years? Would Gerald and Society ever forgive her? After all, who would believe Lord Illingworth to be a man of no importance?

The piece was originally produced at the Haymarket Theatre in 1893, and followed the success of Wilde's play Lady Windermere's Fan.

The DOT production will feature a cast of six and highlight both the play's comic melodrama and social satire exploring class, family and double standards towards women.

The performance is outdoor and audience members are advised to take along a low chair or rug to sit on.
