The Diss-based Waveney Choir is celebrating 40 years of choral singing and to mark the occasion a celebration concert is being held on Saturday in Diss Corn Hall.

The choir has become recognised as "the town's choir" and, in keeping with this, proceeds from the concert will go to the Diss Town mayor's charity.

Past conductors and accompanists of the choir will be coming back to take part, and past members and people with past association with the choir will be joining in the celebration. Any past members who have not been contacted would be warmly welcomed on the night.

The choir presently numbers 70, a reflection of the popularity of choral singing at the moment.

The concert starts at 7pm. Tickets at 5 (students 3) available from Diss Corn Hall box office 01379 652241 or online at www.disscornhall.co.uk
