THE fifth annual competition to grow the biggest onion in Harleston is being launched next week.
The selected onion this year is the Mammoth variety and competitors choose their own seedlings from the 100 available. They cost £1.50 each, or three for £4, and should be collected and registered from 7pm on Monday at the Swan Hotel.
Onions will be judged on size, not weight, in the autumn.
