Made on just $150,000, Once was one of the great surprise hits of recent years. The Guy, a Dublin guitarist, makes a living by fixing vacuum cleaners, and singing on the streets by night. The Girl is a Czech who plays piano when she gets a chance, and does odd jobs by day. Guy meets Girl and, attracted by their mutual love of playing music, a hesitant but empathetic relationship develops.
