A free new arts directory has been launched in mid Suffolk detailing many of the regions' artists, individuals and organisations.

Produced by the district council's art service, the publication broadly focuses on the field of visual arts, music, dance, film and cinema, theatre, literature, puppetry and craft. It seeks to promote community involvement in the arts and opening up events and spaces to a wider audience.

With more than 75 entries, the 50-page directory is the first publication of its kind for mid Suffolk, containing descriptions, contact and membership details and booking information. In addition, the directory also features a useful section providing information on venues, spaces and other facilities for hire.

The council's arts officer, Zoey Furzer, said: “The arts directory is an essential companion for anyone interested in the arts to explore and be inspired by what on offer in mid Suffolk. With opportunities for all ages, the information is now at your fingertips so search and enjoy!”

Free copies are available locally at tourist information points and public libraries, and can also be obtained from schools and a number of community-based businesses in the district.
