Although we are in the middle of Summer, the thoughts of Mere Players, the Diss-based drama and musical group, are already turning to Christmas.

If you are one of the thousands of people who watch and enjoy the Thursford Christmas Musical extravaganza each year and come away thinking “I would love to take part in a show like that”, here's a chance to come and find out all about getting involved with Mere Player's forthcoming production In the Mood for Christmas.

To be staged in the Corn Hall in Diss, between 3rd - 6th December, the show will be a mix of festive favourites featuring traditional as well as modern Christmas classics. The show's musical director will be Michael Dann, well known to all Mere Players regular audiences for some stunning musical arrangements and vocal harmonies. Karen Ball will once again be directing, as she has with all the other well - loved and critically acclaimed “In the Mood” series of musical song and dance shows performed by Mere Players over the past few years.

The show is open to everybody over the age of around 15 to 16 and the Players are keen to hear from anyone who fancies getting involved. If you are not a solo singer, there are plenty of chorus roles.

Mere players are holding a presentation evening on Tuesday at 8pm at The Friends Meeting House on Frenze Road Diss. For further information please contact Karen Ball on 01379 640084 or just turn up on the night.
