CONCERTGOERS have the chance to hear Norwich-educated soprano Sarahjane King sing with Wymondham Choral Society in their Christmas concert on Saturday, December 6, in St Mary's Church, Attleborough.

Sarahjane, daughter of prominent local flute teacher and soloist Anne Bryant, started her singing career while still a pupil at the Norwich High School for Girls, and also played cello in the Norwich Students and the Norfolk Youth Orchestras. Now with a steadily growing list of achievements in national opera and oratorio performances, she returns to Norfolk to sing the demanding soprano solo part in Poulenc's colourful and exciting "Gloria", as well as two further solo items in the second half of the concert.

Cathedral organ scholar and virtuoso Tom Primrose will also be featured in two short solo items, and the choir completes the programme with seasonal carols sung variously with orchestra, with organ, or a capella. Musical director Claire Dixon will conduct choir and orchestra, and the concert will help to raise funds for local charity Away From It All, a Mothers' Union Christian Care charity for families, providing family holiday support.

The concert starts at 7.30 pm, and tickets are available priced at £8 (£7 concessions) from Nuts 'n' Bolts in Attleborough, Reeves in Wymondham, from WCS members, or at the door.
