A PAINTING of a Spitfire to be sold for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal is on display at the White House Gallery in Attleborough.

Rocklands-based James J Allen has donated the picture which is for sale at £250 and is on display at the gallery until November 21. If not sold by then, it will be presented to the Royal British Legion for auction nationally.

The painting highlights a two-week exhibition, featuring the works of artists James J Allen, Cliff Matthews, Christopher Hollick and Gillian McDonald. An opening evening was well attended and the gallery owners intend to hold exhibitions at regular intervals throughout the year.

The gallery, in Queen's Square, is open from Tuesday - Friday from 10am - 4pm and Saturday from 10am - 2pm.
