WITH a programme packed with some of the best songs from musicals new and old, the newly formed Merely Divas will perform their debut concert at St Mary's Church, Diss, on Saturday starting at 7.

WITH a programme packed with some of the best songs from musicals new and old, the newly formed Merely Divas will perform their debut concert at St Mary's Church, Diss, on Saturday starting at 7.30pm.

Merely Divas is made up of singers Lisa Adamson, Sally Arnold, Kate Dann, Pippa King and Karen Stephenson, with musical direction/accompaniment by Michael Dann.

Each member of the Merely Divas has sung for many years and has been involved with many musical productions with various drama groups in the area including several National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) award-winning shows including the 2007 Best Musical Production for Diss-based Mere Players performance of Jekyll and Hyde.

Mr Dann said “It has been very exciting working with the 'Divas' and anyone who likes songs from the musicals should come along and hear what these five talented ladies can do - they will not be disappointed!”

The concert will be raising money for Cancer Research UK and it is hoped that the response from this their first concert will result in other similar concerts being held in the future,

also raising money for local and national charities.
