A summer ball is being held at Diss to raise money to help relieve the suffering of children affected by radiation from the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl in 1986.
A summer ball is being held at Diss to raise money to help relieve the suffering of children affected by radiation from the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl in 1986.
The Diss Friends of Chernobyl's Children's group is organising the event, and will use the proceeds to help pay for the youngsters to stay with local families for at least one month annually, over a period of five years. Research has shown that spending one month in England may extend their life expectancy by two years.
The ball will be held on Saturday, June 28 and The Park Hotel, Diss, and includes a three course silver service dinner and coffee, five bottles of wine for each table of ten people, a top class professional band, disco and other surprises.
