Some of South Norfolk's most talented young musicians will be performing at a concert in aid of Bressingham Church.

South Norfolk Youth Symphonic Band, which is based in Diss and has around 50 members, will be playing the fundraising concert at the church on September 29 (7.30pm).

The event marks a return to Bressingham for the band which has since its formation in 1974 featured generations of young players.

Formed by Mike Booty, who is still chairman and musical director, the band has raised many thousands of pounds for charities and regularly gives around 30 concerts each year. They have twice played to HRH The Princess Royal, once in the Royal Albert Hall, as well as performing 'Tubby the Tuba', narrated by the late Roy Castle, and performed in Europe.

Tickets for the fundraising concert priced £10 (£5 under-16s), including a finger buffet, and are available from Bressingham Village Shop or on 01379 687580.
