We have seen a hint of rain but with the sunny weather returning for the rest of the week here are just some activities to do with the kids in South Norfolk.

• With the school holiday in full flow there are multiple kids camps going on across the county. Wymondham Leisure Centre and Long Stratton High School will be hosting activity days every Wednesday and Thursday this month from 8am-6pm for youngsters from the age of five-15. For more information click here.• One of Norfolk's largest beer festivals returns for the 25th year. From Thursday August 2 - Saturday, August 4 Summer Beer and Music Festival at The Angel Inn, Larling, returns with live music and a large selection of beers. Children under-15 go free. • Take a step back in time on Friday, August 3 as Seething Observatory use genuine Victorian equipment to look up into the stars. Doors open at 7.30pm with talks starting at 8pm. Adult tickets £3, children £1,50 at Seething Observatory, Thwaite St Mary.

• The Roydon White Hart Summer Festival kicks off on Saturday, August 4 with live music, BBQ, face-painting, family games and a bar stocked with local ales and ciders as well as award winning gins and prosecco. At Roydon White Hart, Roydon.

• Get on your bike as Norfolk Cycling brings Norfolk Sportive back for 2018 with a family eight-mile bike ride. All under-16s ride free and back for its second year is the 150 miler, along with the classic distances of 25,50 and 100 mile rides. Sunday, August 5 at Crusaders Rugby Club, Little Melton Road, Hethersett.

• Family fun day for all ages at Scole Community Centre and village playing fields as Park Radio join the fun with a raffle, classic cars, craft stalls, football shootout, bouncy castle, bar and hog roast - Sunday, August 5,

• A summer holiday is not complete without a trip to the coast. The beautiful beach and pier at Southwold is just 30-miles from Diss. The town hosts a number of riverside walks and a traditional seaside promenade with a range of activities and shops.

• Banham Zoo is hosting its I Love Summer event with a celebration of the opening of its new Sea Lion Bay. See some of the most exotic animals in the world with tigers, sloths, giraffes and leopards. Open 9.30am-5pm on Kenninghall Road, Banham.

• Let your little ones run wild at Monsters soft play area in Diss. From just £5 for children from four-10 youngsters can explore the many tunnels and climb around in the play area from 9.30am, 10am on weekends, till 6pm in Hopper Way.

• Explore some of the nature reserves around South Norfolk. Tyrrels Wood, Pulham Market, offers free parking and 41 acres of woodlands dating back to 1251 to explore. Although there are no route markings there is an easy circular route to follow.
