Eight Christmas markets not to miss around Diss

Inject some real festive spirit into your Christmas shopping with a whirl around wonderful seasonal markets. To get those special gifts, stock up on local seasonal produce and visit Father Christmas, here is our guide to eight places for festive cheer.
Christmas Food, Drink & Craft Fair
Goodies Food Hall, Pulham, November 24, 9am–4pm
The tastes and flavours for Christmas promised with festive tasters, samples and demos plus crafts, Father Christmas and more. You will be able to try and buy everything from gin to patés, cheese, sauces, pies, puddings and cakes (including gluten-free cakes). Also lots of gift ideas from local crafters and makers and festive wreaths. Children can enjoy a visit to Father Christmas in his woodland grotto and gingerbread decorating.
Thornham Magna Parish Hall, November 24, 2pm–4pm
Lots of craft and gift ideas will be on display for those Christmas present ideas. Festive crafts, clothing, jewellery and gift stalls. There will also be a grand Christmas raffle with some great prizes. Get into the seasonal spirit with mulled wine, mince pies and more tasty treats.
Christmas Lights Siwtch-On
Market Place, Diss, November 24, 3pm-6.30pm
Diss Market Place is central place to catch the turning on the wonderful Christmas Lights and soak up the festive atmosphere. Entertainment from 3pm with live music and fairground rides, but there will also be lots of stalls selling Christmas goodies. The big switch on will take place at 5.30pm.
Tivetshall Christmas Craft Fayre
Tivetshall Village Hall, November 25, 11am–3pm
Tivetshall Families and Friends host their third Christmas Craft Fayre which will feature a wide variety of stalls to purchase crafts, food and treats, plus gifts for family and friends. A tombola, snowball bounce game, raffle and the all important visit from Father Christmas (entry into the Grotto is free of charge). Refreshments will feature many lovely homemade mince pies, cakes and savoury options.
The Big Christmas Shopping Night In
Roydon Village Hall, November 30, 7.30pm–10pm
After the success of the Big Night In last year it returns to Roydon. This time it is a Christmas shopping event, designed to use the festive period to promote small businesses in the area with plenty of gifts, card and beauty ideas. The event will be raising some money for two great charities: the Fertility Network UK and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Harleston Christmas Market
Market Place, Harleston, December 1, 9.30am-6.30pm
As part of a day-long seasonal special the festive street market returns to Harleston. Regular favourites and new stalls, including crafts, wreaths, gifts, jewellery and decorations, food and drink, and a special Christmas hamper prize draw. Meanwhile around town catch The Grinch spreading mayhem and dismay, and Too Many Cooks singing seasonal tunes. Santa will welcome children into his magical grotto (2.30pm-5pm). The Christmas lights switch-on is at 6.20pm by comedian, writer and performer Ben Langley of Britain’s Got Talent.
St John’s Church, Harleston, December 1, 10am-4pm
Also in Harleston will be this indoor Christmas market at St John’s. Lots of stalls and crafts, a raffle and refreshments all day. Make sure you pop in.
St Nicholas Christmas Fayre
The Heritage Triangle, Diss, December 9, 11am–4pm
Traders, shopkeepers and cafes in the Heritage Triangle will welcome in the festive season with a day of entertainment, great shopping, special offers and Christmas treats at this special Christmas Fayre right in the heart of Diss. Find gifts from a wide range of local and artisan suppliers. Meet Santa Claus, enjoy hog roasts, hot chestnuts and mulled wine. A Christmas Raffle with some brilliant prizes. Watch the Christmas Lantern procession plus entertainment including the Salvation Army Band, musicians and buskers.
