From the Rovers Return to the Queen Vic, the pub has long been a scene for dramas on screen, and a play coming to Diss features life on both sides of the bar.

A landlady and landlord greet customers in the dark, heart-rending comedy Two that depicts the rich tapestry of human experience through those frequenting that microcosm of community life - the local pub.

Jim Cartwright's two-handed play is set in a working-class life in a Northern local in the 1980s, a place of failed aspirations and unfulfilled lives, which has since been emulated in many comedies most notably the Craig Cash TV sitcom Early Doors.
